ITANAGAR, Jul 19: After flurries of political fiasco and hullabaloo witnessed in the floor of state Legislative Assembly, ranging from locking down the Assembly gate, shifting of proceeding to make shift floor of the house, an exodus of Congress legislators to form People’ Party of Arunachal (PPA), the state Legislative Assembly which is meeting on Wednesday is likely to sail smoothly.
Governor in Charge Tathagata Roy has summoned the Sixth Legislative Assembly to meet for ninth session around 10:am morning on Wednesday. Trust-Vote on new CLP leader and Chief Minister Pema Khandu will be the main agenda of the session and there will be also an election of new-speaker of the Assembly after Nabam Rebia tendered his resignation. Sources close to the government informed that Tsering Norbu Thongdok is likely to be elected as new the Speaker.
The Assembly will pass off peacefully and I hope all party legislators will unanimously support the selected one as Speaker ” said Mechukha MLA Passang Dorjee Sona on behalf of the government.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu is supported by 44 Congress legislators and two Independent MLAs as new CLP leader.
Meanwhile, Capital SP Devender Arya in a release informed that the National Highway (NH-415) from Arunachal State Hospital tri-junction to Chandni Hotel tri-junction, Naharlagun will remain closed for traffic on July 20 from 7 am onwards in view of the security arrangements made in connection with Assembly Session at State Legislative Assembly building, Naharlagun.
Alternative arrangements have been made for all incoming and outgoing traffic.
Vehicles coming from Itanagar will be diverted at ASH tri-junction via Prem Nagar and take the highway again at helipad tri-junction.
Similarly, vehicles coming from Nirjuli side will be diverted at Chandni Hotel tri-junction and take the highway back at G-extension tri-junction, Naharlagun. Further, vehicles coming from Naharlagun to Itanagar will take the Papunallah route via Jully road.
Guv Rajkhowa should resign on moral ground, says Taloh

ITANAGAR, Jul 19: Even as the Supreme Court (SC) judgment came to the rescue and Pema khandu coming up as the new chief minister, for former education minister Tapang Taloh, the Dec 15, 2016 incident at Raj Bhawan here that made headlines is far from forgotten. He sees the recent SC judgment as the triumph of the democracy in the country.
"Earlier there were many interpretations but now it's clear for all to see. Everyone is witness to how Governor J P Rajkhowa had misused his constitutional power which has never happened in anywhere in the country," he said addressing press persons at Press Club here on Tuesday.
Referring to the episode as an unfortunate incident, he claimed that it was a preplanned move by the Centre to destabilize the Congress government in the state.
"It was preplanned and it was clear from his (Governor's) move that it was done to destabilize the Congress government in the state," he said.
Taloh suggested that the Governor should resign from his post on moral ground.
He said he did not expect any portfolio in the new government when asked by one of the journalists.
"I am a trusted shoulder of INC and will work for the larger interest of the party," he further added.
Slippery seasonal politics

Objectivity and honesty is not the hallmark of Arunachal politics. Who would know it better than former Chief Minister Kalikho Pul. Such was the deceit that he had no clue that the plot had changed in a span of seven hours road journey from Guwahati to Itanagar. Of the 30 odd MLAs that he paraded before the media in Guwahati after the Supreme Court verdict reinstating Nabam Tuki led Congress govt, only ten MLAs turned up at the hotel that his office had booked.
But they too vanished one after another, forcing Pul to check out from the hotel as well; the last one to leave in a private car.
Power is so alluring that MLAs did not even had the decency to tell Pul on his face that his tenure was over.
To his credit, Pul will be remembered for many reasons.
In recent years, people have not seen a politician who connects instantly with the common citizens. While critics termed it antics to garner publicity but he managed to touch the heart of thousands of ordinary citizens. The hugely popular but ill managed public darbars were testimonies of his popularity as well as a message to the current Chief Minister and those aspiring to be one that it matters to reach out to the people, to reassure that Chief Minister's office is within the reach of common people.
But it was a hard lesson for Pul that it's the MLAs that makes a Chief Minister, not the poor and the sick. Perhaps, it was his own weakness that he got carried away by his own popularity without taking the MLAs into his confidence. If at all he makes a comeback, which is not unlikely given the slippery political situation, perhaps he will be more careful.
While Pul has been given the time to introspect on what went wrong with his leadership, overnight change of loyalty is not new in the state. With exception of Late Dorjee Khandu, all the Chief Ministers have been at the receiving end of switch of loyalty overnight.
This time, it was more scandalous because Pul was chosen to lead the government by the same people who deserted him after more than a year of power struggle within the Congress, fuelled by clueless AICC.
Once the SC verdict came, AICC woke up and decided on Pema Khandu, a 37 year old political novice to replace Nabam Tuki as CM, keeping in tune with its policies of dynasty politics.
It remains to be seen how Pema navigates the complicated political scene in the state. To start with, he has never faced the electorates directly as he has been elected unopposed twice in his five years of active political journey.
Already tattered by huge unemployment among the young people of the state, rain induced land slides, blockades and floods and deserted by politicians as they pursue their own selfish agenda, citizens are not hoping for any miracle from its pampered and ambitious politicians. But little bit of stability would not hurt. For that to happen, the Congress high command needs to learn how to keep the slippery team together. The wounded BJP, even without the number, is unlikely to retire so soon from Arunachal.
As of now, we have to wait and watch how the state progresses under the leadership of the young Chief Minister. Perhaps, the first lesson for Pema Khandu came from his own colleague who asked for clarification after he said "hum log state ko bachane aya".
Flood situation in Namsai remains grim
NAMSAI, Jul 19: The flood situation in Namsai district continues to be grim with low lying areas in the entire district remaining submerged by flood water.
A DC office release stated that Noa-Dihing river alongwith other rivers and its tributaries have diverted from the mainstream and flood water entered in several villages in Namsai, Lekang and Piyong circles.
NDRF is continuing operation to shift the people from all endangered areas of New Silatoo and Mahadevpur-IV villages. So far 56 stranded people of New Silatoo and six of Mahadevpur-IV have been evacuated. Large numbers of affected people have been shifted to relief camps at Silatoo, Mahadevpur-I, Mahadevpur-III, Mahadevpur-IV and Dirak Miri villages under Lekang circle where essential commodities are being provided by the administration.
Fresh reports of massive soil erosion along with losses of public and private properties are being received from various parts of the district. Hectares of cultivated land especially paddy fields and fish ponds have been inundated. All contingency plans have been activated by the district administration while strict vigil is being kept on the situation.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Tuesday appraised Chief Minister Pema Khandu about the flood situation and sought government's support in extending necessary assistance to tackle the situation.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu has assured Mein for all possible help in rescue and relief of flood affected people and assistance to deal with the crises.
DCM Mein who is personally monitoring the flood situation has spoken to Namsai, DC R.K.Sharma to take stock of the situation arising out of the floods in Namsai district.
Mein has directed the district administration to gear up man and materials for carrying out rescue and relief operations for the flood affected people and to set up temporary relief camps in affected areas and deploy NDRF teams for rescue and relief operation in the district.
DC Sharma has briefed the DCM about the prevailing situation and the steps taken to give succor to the marooned people in the district.
Earlier in the day, Namsai MLA Chow Zingnu Namchoom also called on the Chief Minister to apprise him of the flood situation in Namsai district.
Meanwhile, Namchoom has informed the district administration that necessary mechanism has been put in place by the government for dealing with the flood situation.
Pema visits Secretariat buildings, calls for strict security arrangement
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday inspected the State Secretariat buildings and stressed on making foolproof security arrangement.
He thoroughly inspected the Chief Minister's Office chamber, conference halls and also the Deputy Chief Minister's office in block 2 building.
While briefing the chief minister on the progress of the works, Chief Secretary Shakuntala D. Gamlin said that the Civil Secretariat will have a fool-proof security system with Door Frame Metal Detectors, X-Ray Scanning Machines, etc in all the entrance gates and will also provide security system separately in the Chief Minister's Secretariat Building.
She also informed that all the staff working in the Civil Secretariat will be provided with Radio Frequency Cards and attendance will be taken through Biometric System in all the blocks. She also said that separate cards will be issued for the visitors in the main entrance.
She further informed that 95% of physical work has already been completed and the Chief Minister's Secretariat building will be ready for inauguration by August 15.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, MLAs Kumar Waii, Lombo Tayeng, Phosum Khimhun, Thangwang Wangham, Honchum Ngandam among others.
Sitang Khao-wa celebrated across state
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: Sitang Khao-wa popularly known as Varsavas was celebrated by Theravada Buddhist in various parts of state on Tuesday. Khao-wa is an annual three-month monastic retreat practiced especially in the Theravada Buddhist tradition and is observed for 3 months (from July 19 to October 16).
At Itanagar, the day was celebrated with traditional fervor and gaiety at Theravada Buddha Vihara. Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein, Chongkham MLA, CT Mein and Namsai MLA, Chow Zingnu Namchoom were also present on the occasion.
Delivering his discourse from the Dhamma-cakkap-pavattana Sutta (the Wheel of Law), the abbot of Theravada Buddha Vihara Venerable Ratnadeepa dwelt at length on the teachings of Lord Buddha and asked all to practice Dhamma for harmony and peace.
He said that Dhamma-cakkap-pavattana Sutta is presented by the Buddhist tradition as the first discourse that the Buddha delivered after his enlightenment. Buddhism began with Buddha's first declaration of his enlightenment and explanation of the chain of events and experience leading up to the moment of his enlightenment. It is important for all Buddhist to study and understand this Sutta which indicates three differing levels of symbolic meaning of the wheel of rebirth, the birth and events leading to enlightenment and entering into Nibbana of the Buddha.
Sitang Khao-wa was also celebrated at Namsai, Chongkham, Tezu besides, Changlang district and Deomali in Tirap district.
Admission process in Roing GMDC to start soon
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: The Govt. Model Degree College(GMDC) at Jemi Notko, Roing, Lower Dibang Valley district will start functioning from the academic session 2016.
Admission process will start soon as the Government has approved to start the new academic session from July-August, informed Director of Higher and Technical Education Dr. Tejum Padu.
Initially, the college will offer courses in English, Economics, History, Hindi and Political Science only.
The State Govt. has appointed a Principal In-charge along with five faculties, Dr. Padu informed
The college will cover students from Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley districts.
DC stresses need for health awareness campaign in rural areas
YINGKIONG, Jul 19: Upper Siang DC, Remo Kamki has urged the doctors, medical staffs under NHM to conduct tours and health awareness campaign in rural areas with missionary zeal to encourage, educate and advise the ASHAs for better performances at village level.
He was addressing a District Level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee review meeting on Health & Family Welfare held at the DC’s conference Hall here on Tuesday.
Kamki also urged all the doctors and medical staffs to stay at their respective place of posting to prevent and control various diseases which occur mostly during summer.
The DC further urged the concerned executing department to immediately initiate the process for construction of a Blood Bank at district hospital to avoid surrender of the allotted fund.
DRCHO, Dr. Appir Apang also explained various achievements and implementation of the various health and family welfare measures and schemes with the help of a power point presentation. Dr. Apang also informed about Intensified Diarrhea Control campaign which would continue from last week of July to second week of August next.

Pakke Kessang Golden Jubilee celebration cum Pakke Paga Festival commence
ITANGAR, Jul 19: The Pakke Kessang Golden Jubilee celebration cum Pakke Paga Festival commenced on July 16 at Pakke Kessang.
The celebration commemorates the 50 years of the establishment of Pakke Kessang administrative headquarter and to preserve the wild life especially the Hornbill (Paga).
Marking the launching of the celebration, fish fingerlings were released in Pakke River and a tree plantation was conducted in the premises of Govt. Secondary School Pakke Kessang, EAC office premises Pakke Kessang and Community Health Centre.
Later a public meeting was held at Govt. Secondary School Pakke Kessang which was attended by EAC in-charge, Tamo Dada, panchayat leaders, senior citizens, gaon buras, local public and others.
Briefing on the celebration, Convenor Local Organizing committee Chatung Gumro spoke about the importance of the preservation of wild life.
The Pakke Kessang Golden Jubilee cum Pakke Paga Festival will be celebrated till Nov 5 with many events such as display of traditional handicrafts, rejuvenation of Pakke River, conduct of river sanitation programmes, trekking from Joly (Seijosa) to Suchung Village (Pakke Kessang), trekking to World War-II plane wreckage sites, Sokio Senyik (a lake in the jungle), Yal pu top, Sotung Lange, installation of tourism expo huts, agri & allied expos, games & sports, literary activities, cultural displays etc.
Students oppose 50-50 reservation policy in SSA teacher appointment
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: All Kra Daadi District Students’ Union (AKDDSU) has strongly opposed 50:50 job reservations for APST and non-APSTS candidates.
Referring to an advertisement published in this daily of July 8, wherein it was stated in the column of the reservation policy that the job reservation with regards to Upper Primary school teachers will be 50% reservation for APST candidates and rest 50% will be kept open to all as per revised guidelines (2007-08) for recruitment of contractual teacher under SSA, the union in its complaint letter to the Deputy Commissioner cum Project Director, SSA District Mission, Kra Daadi, demanded 80: 20 reservation policy.
The students union also termed as illegal and unconstitutional the statement made in clause III (b) of the advertisement, wherein it has been stated that the reserved post will be treated as unreserved and will be filled up from general candidate in case of non-availability of APST candidate.
Demanding a correction in this regard at the earliest, AKDDSU stated that reserved posts cannot be de-reserved at any cost and the same vacancies should be carried forward to the next recruitment drive. The union, however, said that temporary arrangement can be made from other category until the reserved posts are duly filled up by the genuine APST candidates.
While demanding to prefer candidates from home district over candidates from other districts in the job recruitment, AKDDSU also urged the DC cum District Project Director (SSA) to properly scrutinize and cross-check credentials of the aspiring candidate to ensure that no candidate with fake certificate are recruited.
The appointments should be made in free and fair manner maintaining complete transparency in entire recruitment process, AKDDSU said, adding that there should be no political appointment.
Nyishi Idol-2016: Twenty singers qualify for third elimination round
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: Twenty singers have qualified for the third elimination round of the Nyishi Idol 2016.
Out of the 26 contestants, six were eliminated in the second round which was held on July 18 at Nyikum Niya ground, Nirjuli. The names of the four singers out of the total 30, who were eliminated in the first round, were announced before start of the second elimination round.
The third elimination round will be held on July 23 at Nyikum Niya hall, Nirjuli.
District Food & Civil Supply Officer, Papum Pare Amit Bengia attended the second elimination round.
The singing talent hunt is conducted by Nyishi Art and Culture Welfare Society (NACWS).
Earlier, one minute’s silence was observed as a mark of respect to popular singer of the State Marto Kamdak on his first death anniversary.
Capacity building prog. of extension functionaries conducted
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: A day-long capacity building-cum-demonstration programme on integrated aquaculture-cum-horticulture for various agricultural field assistants of the state was organized by the East Siang, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and College of Horticulture and Forestry, Central Agriculture University at Pasighat on Tuesday.
The training aimed at acquainting the officers in Integrated Farming System (IFS) model and develop master trainers for promoting environmentally sustainable and economically viable technology which encompasses rational utilization of available resources of the farm through Integrated farming approach.
Speaking on the occasion, College of Horticulture and Forestry, CAU, Pasighat, Dean, Dr. A K Pandey highlighted the need of balance diet and importance of integrated farming for reducing malnutrition, enhancing food security and income generation. He also gave the slogan of ‘grow locally and think globally’ to the trainees.
Emphasis was also given on different aspect of integrated farming viz. aquaculture, off season vegetable production, different integrated models and farm mechanization during the programme.
Besides, KVK East Siang, Programme Coordinator, Dr. Mahesh Pathak and Gram Sewak Training Centre, Pasighat, Assistant Director, Training, Opang Moyong also spoke on the occasion.
All together 36 extension functionaries attended the programme.
Arunachal Pradesh to host Senior Ranking National Badminton Tournament
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: Arunachal Pradesh will host the Senior Ranking National Badminton Championship from Sept 20 to 25.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu informed this on Tuesday to the much excitement for the Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA), which has been assigned the task to organize the event at Itanagar by the Badminton Association of India (BAI).
Emphasizing on the importance of development of the state in all fronts including games and sports, the Chief Minister gave the nod to host the prestigious National Level Senior Ranking Badminton Championship in the state wherein more than 600 leading players from across the country will participate.
The event will be organised by ASBA and supported by the state government.
CM Khandu also suggested roping in sponsorship from private companies for such a mega event.
He further said that his govt will take forward the sports activities and look into the infrastructure needed to encourage and to provide facilities for promising young talents of the state in sports.
Meanwhile, the CM assured to take up other demands of ASBA in the State Cabinet after its formation which include construction of a National Badminton Academy having eight courts at 6 km between Itanagar-Naharlagun to be named after Late Dorjee Khandu and taking over of the Dorjee Khandu State Open Badminton Championship by the state government.
While placing their grievances before the Chief Minister ASBA president, Ratu Techi and Secretary, Bamang Tago apprised that the good numbers of renowned badminton players of the state have brought laurels to the state in various national and international tournaments; however they lamented that the state lacks proper infrastructure and coaching facilities to nurture young talents.
They also informed that the Dorjee Khandu Memorial State Open Badminton Championship 2016 will be played from August 10 to 13 for three categories viz., Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 for both boys and girls. As this tournament was being sponsored by the family of Late Dorjee Khandu for the last three years, they requested the state govt to take over the tournament as per the agreement between the state govt and ASBA during the inception of the tournament.
Tadak Dulom Memorial Badminton Tournament from Jul 24
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: The first Tadak Dulom Memorial District Badminton Championship will be held from July 24 to 26 at Singhik Hall, Daporijo.
The tournament, which has been organized coinciding with the 14th birth anniversary of the former minister, will consist of both men and women open singles and doubles, U-15 boys and girls’ singles and doubles.
The tournament has been restricted to players from Upper Subansiri district only.
Landslide disrupts road communication between Aalo and Pangin
PANGIN, Jul 19: Landslides triggered by torrential rains over the past few days blocked the road at 5 km off Sangam point on Aalo- Pangin road causing a total disruption in road communication.
According to official sources, men and machineries were pressed into service on Tuesday to clear the debris but without any progress as the landowners were obstructing the works demanding compensation.
Meanwhile, Siang Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh along with ADC and EAC Pangin visited the landslide-hit area on Tuesday to assess the extent of damage.
He interacted with TK Engineering officials and asked them to put more men and machineries to carryout the restoration work. DIPRO
Water supply disrupted
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: Drinking water supply to BSI, Field Publicity, Sinki View and adjoining areas was again affected on Tuesday due to damages caused to main water supply pipelines of Lappu water source.
This was the fourth time in two months that water supply from Lappu source has been disrupted due to damage caused to pipelines owing to incessant rains.
PHED is toiling hard to repair the pipelines in hilly and jungle areas braving inclement weather, according to a departmental release.
Relief provided to fire victims
SEPPA, Jul 19: East Kameng Deputy Commissioner Rajeev Takuk along with DDMO Keshok Dodum on Tuesday visited the fire accident site at ALC Colony, Seppa.
After taking stock of the situation, the DC distributed relief materials to the affected families and also provided them Rs. 3800 each as immediate relief.
He interacted with the affected families and assured them of every possible help from the administration side. He directed the DDMO to assess the properties lost or damaged in the fire.

Driver killed as GREF tipper falls into gorge
TAWANG, Jul 19: A GREF Tipper of 117 RCC fell into deep gorge killing the driver of the vehicle and injuring five others near Zemithang.
The driver was rushed to the PHC Zemithang where he was declared brought dead at 1 am on Monday. The injured persons were evacuated to District Hospital Tawang at the directive of the Zemithang Circle Officer. All of them, including the driver, were residents of Zemithang circle. DIPRO
APTPF emphasizes on planned growth of cities
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: The meeting of Arunachal Pradesh Town Planners Forum (APTPF) emphasized on planned growth of cities through proper implementation of town planning schemes.
The meeting which was held in the office chamber of the Department of Town Planning and ULBs here discussed various issues relating to town planning and implementation of various acts, roles of town planners in planning activities, creation of more posts of town planners for better urban planning to facilitate planned development of the whole State.
Director A. Morang, Senior Town Planner S. Singh, Town Planner Likha Suraj and Assistant Town Planners of the Department of Town Planning attended the meeting.
DC calls for effective implementation of IDCF prog
ROING, Jul 19: Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Ravi Dhawan has called for effective implementation of IDCF programme and also suggested to cover children between 0-5 years at all out-reach areas of the district. The DC was addressing the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) Steering Committee meeting held at his office here on Tuesday.
He also advocated for follow up screening of child, maintenance of separate register by ASHAS and sought detail list of the programme schedule and micro plan to facilitate ASHA during the fortnight camps. Dhawan called on all line departments like ICDS, DDSE for proper coordination for successful conduct of the programme.
Roing, DVBDCO, Dr. N. Yirang briefed on the aims and objective of the programme and informed that IDCF programme will be observed from July 29 to August 11. The main activity of the programme will be demonstration of hand-wash in all the schools and AWWC, free distribution of ORS to less than 5 yrs children in all the villages by ASHA, establishment of ORS-Zinc corner in all the health institution, health awareness campaign in all the school on IDC programme.
The programme was attended by DMO incharge and DTO Dr. S.J Mitapo, IDCF members and other officials.
Training workshop for teachers
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology branch Itanagar (Naharlagun) in collaboration with Royal Chemistry India Foundation (RCIF), New Delhi and CSIR-NEIST Jorhat organized a two days training workshop for teachers at the institute premises on July 18 and 19.
Resource person Vimala Oak from Royal Chemistry India Foundation, New Delhi conducted the programme and provided some basic trips to the teachers how to attract the students, motivate, encourage them and develop their skills of understanding in broad area of Science. Royal Chemistry India Foundation, New Delhi is a unit of Royal Society of Chemistry, London U.K.
Dr Jagat C Borah, Scientist incharge, NEIST Branch Itanagar, co-ordinated the programme with support of all staff of the institute.
Around 30 teachers from different schools from Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli, Balijan, Banderdewa, Yazali, Oyan, Sher, Doimukh, etc attended and actively participated in programme.
Training on rabbit rearing conducted
BASAR, Jul 19: In all, 41 farmers and youths took part in a West Siang KVK conducted day-long training programme on broiler rabbit rearing at Nyodu village on Monday.
During the programme, ACTO-Animal Science, Dr. Moloy Sarmah Baruah explained the benefits of rearing broiler rabbit which can be introduced as a micro livestock along with other traditional livestock and poultry enterprise.
A method demonstration was also conducted on the techniques of vaccination of poultry while, a lecture on identification and management of pest and disease in paddy was also delivered by SMS-Plant Protection, Dr. Kangabam Suraj Singh.
Nyodu village Gram Chairperson, Lipu Nyodu was also present on the occasion.
Call for reconsideration
ITANAGAR, Jul 19: The All Kurung Kumey District Students’ Union has called for reconsideration of individual bank account system for payment of stipend to students of Kurung Kumey district saying that the lone SBI Bank for the entire district at Koloriang is not accessible by all the students. It has given a representation to the Director, School education in this regard.
Non-availability of Adhaar Card by the students of the district which has been made mandatory for the stipend payment was also highlighted by the union.
Adhaar card making agency is yet to establish their camps in the district, it said and asked to alter it with another option for the convenient of the students of the district.

ITANAGAR, Jul 19: Eminent journalist and publisher, Civil Society, New Delhi, Umesh Anand appealed to the youths to be ready for the challenges of 21st century through reading and efficient use of computer & IT services. ‘Let Arunachal have an ‘Own Your Library Movement’, he added.
Anand was addressing the activists of Lohit Youth Library Network, students, teachers and government officials at Lathao after he dedicated ‘Dr Kalam House’, the new premises of the Lathao Youth Library in Namsai district recently.
The eminent journalist, accompanied by video-docufilm maker Lakshman Anand, also visited the CALSOM Youth Library, Tezu and presented the Bhajan Award 2016 to Founder, in-charge Bamboosa Library, Tezu, Etalo Mega for his contribution towards spreading reading habits across Lohit valley from 2007 to 2015. Anand also distributed the annual prizes to activists of Bamboosa Library.
Lauding the Civil Society for their efforts, Lathao GHSS, Principal, T Ete hoped that the new Dr Kalam House would encourage the youths to inculcate reading habit.
Khun Ta Nav Society, Namsai, Chairperson, Dr Sheelawati Monlai, founder-library incharge of Lathao Library, Timita Mungyak and Lathao Eco-Club Advisor, Chow Teweta Choutang were also present on the occasion.
